Summer Tree Mosaics specializes in custom mosaics for architects, interior and landscape designers and individual clients.

Our mosaicist, Jessica Maxson, has done extensive research on the art of mosaic. Her studies have covered the Graeco-Roman period of the fourth century BC, through the Byzantine era of the fifth through eighth centuries and the Medieval/Renaissance periods of the ninth through fifteenth centuries. Her research travels have taken her to such places as Rome, Venice, Florence and Ravenna, Italy.

She is a professional member of the Society of American Mosaic Artists and has been featured in The Crafts Report.

She is able to apply her knowledge of both historical and modern mosaics to create that special object for you, or to work with you in designing a new architectural piece such as kitchen and bathroom backsplashes, patios, floors and wall art.

Among the materials she uses are Italian glass smalti, vitreous glass, stained glass, glazed ceramic and porcelain tile.
